External Description

ModeX Therapeutics is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Scientist / Principal Scientist with expertise in antibody / multispecific antibody therapeutic research and development, as well as gene delivery experience.  Primary responsibilities will be to carry out early research projects, from developing novel antibody therapeutics to evaluating gene-based delivery technologies using in vitro assays and in vivo animal models.

 

The individual will work in our state-of-the-art laboratory in Weston, MA and will be responsible for experimental planning and execution, data analysis and presentation.  This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a cross-functional team and contribute to the development of next-generation synthetic biological therapeutics in a fast-paced, rapidly growing biotech company with a bold vision. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key leader in the effort to develop novel multispecific antibody and therapeutic strategy and in vivo gene delivery technologies
  • Collaborate effectively as part of interdisciplinary research teams to drive the discovery and development of innovative multispecific biotherapeutics and in vivo gene delivery technologies
  • Interpret results and present/communicate with cross-functional colleagues for successful execution and completion of projects
  • Stay scientifically current and contribute to the implementation of new technology and instrumentation
  • Ensure effective, high-quality, timely and appropriate documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or MD with experience in antibody engineering, multispecific antibody construction/production, gene delivery technology, or related field with excellent track record from academia or industry
    • Senior Scientist I/II requires 5-8+ years of relevant experience and demonstrated success
    • Principal Scientist I requires 12+ years of relevant experience and demonstrated success
  • Hand-on experiences in molecular biology, cell biology, in vitro/in vivo gene delivery, cell-based in vitro assays, and reporter assays are essential
  • Expertise in molecular biology, cell biology, gene delivery and experiences in vivo models from mice to NHP are highly desirable
  • Highly adaptable to a fast-paced work environment and capable to lead independently as well as within project teams.
