External Description

ModeX Therapeutics is seeking a highly-skilled and motivated Scientist I or Scientist II (level dependent upon prior experience and results) to take on a critical role within our Translational Science Team. The position requires working experience in Immunology / Immuno-oncology. Key responsibilities of the role will be to carry out translational studies to support late-development projects, including biomarker discovery.  Main activities will consist of in vitro experiments with primary cells, cell lines, and tumor samples, flow cytometry, and multiplex cytokine assays to characterize our candidates. The individual will work in our state-of-the-art laboratory and be responsible for designing and performing experiments, data generation, analysis, and presentation to internal audiences. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform translational science studies to elucidate mechanism of action, support IND-enabling studies, accelerate biomarker discovery, and contribute to the advancement of various programs to clinical stage
  • Responsible for experimental design and execution, data generation, analysis, and presentation to internal audiences
  • Collaborate effectively as part of interdisciplinary research teams  
  • Stay scientifically current and contribute to the implementation of new technology and instrumentation 
  • Ensure effective, high-quality, timely and appropriate documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks 

 

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Immunology in Immunology or related fields  preferred; MS with relevant experience will be considered
  • 2 - 5 years  working experience in Immunology, preferably Immuno-Oncology with good track record from academia or industry
  • Hands-on experience in immune cell assays, PBMC isolation, cell-based in vitro assays, multi-parameter flow cytometry and reporter assays are essential. Experience with ex-vivo analysis of animal and human tissues is preferred. Experience with antibody-based therapeutics is a plus
  • Good written and oral communication, organizational skills, and experience in data generation/analysis.
  • Outstanding learning ability, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Highly adaptable to a fast-paced working environment and capable of working effectively in a team setting as well as individually
